“Branching Out was inspired by the nature and organic spirit of Elements Kitchen. I took my cues from interesting trees and branches from nature for my compositions. It was my intention to capture the spirit of Elements Kitchen. Each piece is engraved and painted on Lucite with imagery on both sides. This gives the piece depth and allows the light to activate the composition to play and bounce on the walls creating shadows.”

“The Drought Resistant series was inspired by the water rationing and succulent plants dominating the landscape of Southern California. I take digital images of architectural structures, objects, landscapes and people. Then I print in repeating patterns on transparent sheets to create illusions that interact with light when mounted slightly off the wall. From a distance the works function as abstract paintings. Upon closer inspection, recognizable shapes take form while stitches holding them together add an element of time, craft and intimacy. ”
